The General Secretary of Souq Okaz has announced that it is welcoming submissions for their awards. The annual prize-giving celebrates great work by poets, plastic artists, scientists, inventors, calligraphers and photographers from the Arab World. Those interested should submit their works online at www.sooqokaz.com. Submissions can also be mailed to P.O. Box 4, postal code: 21944 – Taif. The closing date for all entries is July 15. Dr. Jaridi Mansour, Secretary General of Souq Okaz, said the awards have attracted a large number of Arab intellectuals over the years. Dr. Mansour pointed out that 2012 sees a slight a change in the conditions for choosing the best poet. “A poet should submit a poem in classic Arabic that has not been published before.” __
