A decision has been taken making it mandatory for all private sector companies to pay SR200 a month to the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) for every foreign worker who exceeds the set quota of Saudis at these firms. Th measure is aimed at increasing the cost of employing foreign workers. There are also plans to increase visa and work permit fees to provide revenue for the HRDF and the country's Saudization program. Meanwhile, Minister of Labor Adel Fakieh has granted licenses to 13 Saudi recruitment companies, allowing the recruitment and provision of labor services for public and private sectors as well as domestic workers. This was announced by Dr. Mufarej Bin Saad Al-Haqbani, Deputy Minister of Labor, here Monday.
