Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) announced the signing of a three-year contract, through its subsidiary Bayanat Al Oula, to provide all in the Eastern Province, with broadband Internet services. The contract will guarantee high-reliability Internet services for targeted schools, and will contribute to a facilitated communication with the Ministry and Directorate of education. Dr. Marwan Al Ahmadi, Mobily's CBO, stressed that the "Broadband @ work" service which was offered to Eastern Province schools is greatly relied on by the business sector due to the ease of use and installation via (plug and play), not to mention the convenience in moving the device and using it any area with a WiMAX network coverage. Al Ahmadi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the officials at the Ministry of Education for their trust in Mobily's products and giving it the opportunity to be the leading provider of internet services – considering this step to be a very important to shift toward smart schools that are equipped with the latest communication technologies in the world -thereby enhancing the professional working environment within schools. Mobily was a pioneer in operating both the 4G and WiMax networks at the same time and with high reliability and quality across the Kingdom, to become the first telecom company, on a world scale level, to merge the 4G" and "Wimax together in collaboration with major wireless telecom companies and global infrastructure. Mobily has recently announced the addition of new cities and districts to its WiMax service – Hail Al Taif, Khamis Mushayt, Wadi Al Dawaser and Al Mujamaaa – to provide them with Internet service, after the completion of the service's technical readiness. Mobily then pointed out to its subscribers that they can obtain its broadband services via its outlets that are available across the Kingdom.
