Hayyan has decided to call his new television series “Hashtag” after the term used to search for a common topic on Twitter, the social networking site. Al-Hayyan decided to use the term because of the growing use of Twitter by the public to discuss important issues. The comedian will play several of his previous characters including “Hazar”, “Rasheed Huwaireh” and “Badur Al-Doja”, according to a local Arabic daily. In addition to focusing on local issues in a comic way, each episode will shed light on a political issue that gripped the Arab public's attention in 2011.
