A workshop entitled “Together for Schools Free of Fires” was recently organized in Tabuk by Saudi Aramco with the cooperation of the Ministry of Education and the Directorate for Civil Defense. Over 60 teachers and school administrators attended the workshop to learn fire prevention and safety rules, and evacuation procedures. Educating teachers about fire dangers and how to respond to emergency situations plays an important role in protecting students and teachers in school. The workshop was held at Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Hall in Tabuk, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Harthi from the Directorate of Education and Gen. Saleh Al-Amri from the Directorate of Civil Defense participated in the event. A number of specialists in fire safety from Saudi Aramco delivered lectures and trained teachers in fire safety measures in the home and school, evacuation methods, and how to use fire extinguishers. Gen. Al-Amri also spoke to teachers and school supervisors on safety in school and what one should do in case of fires and natural disasters. The Civil Defense Department and the Directorate of Education expressed appreciation to Saudi Aramco for arranging the fire safety workshop and for its continued support for campaigns and events that spread public awareness on fire safety as well as its other community service projects. The Together for Schools Free of Fires campaign started in Tabuk but is expected to reach schools in all regions of the Kingdom.
