Andy Carroll scored a dramatic late winner as Liverpool came from behind to defeat Merseyside rival Everton 2-1 to reach the FA Cup final at Wembley here Saturday. Carroll — the club's much-maligned £35 million record signing — glanced in a Craig Bellamy free-kick in the 87th minute to keep Liverpool on course for a domestic cup double. It was the second time in five days that Carroll had come to Liverpool's rescue after scoring an injury-time winner in the Premier League victory over Blackburn in midweek. The goal also ensured Liverpool has the opportunity to finish a disappointing season on a high in next month's final where it will face the winner of Sunday's last-four clash between Tottenham and Chelsea. Carroll's decisive strike came after Liverpool had fought back to level through Luis Suarez on 62 minutes following Nikica Jelavic's opener for Everton. On 24 minutes Liverpool was made to pay for its lackluster opening as Jelavic pounced for his sixth goal since signing from Rangers in January. Just when it seemed Everton had withstood the early onslaught, Liverpool drew level on 62 mintues. Sylvain Distin underhit his backpass to Tim Howard and Suarez raced through on goal before poking his finish under the American keeper. With extra-time looming Everton substitute brought down Gerrard wide on the left flank. Liverpool substitute Bellamy, who had only been on the pitch a matter of minutes, chipped in a perfectly flighted effort and Carroll outjumped Jelavic and Marouane Fellaini to glance home. Hat trick by Tevez Carlos Tevez fired a hat-trick and fellow Argentine Sergio Aguero scored twice as Manchester City thrashed Norwich City 6-1 to move within two points of Premier League leader Manchester United Saturday. Former skipper Tevez, who in midweek was handed his first start since September after ending a dispute with manager Roberto Mancini, produced a scintillating display to fuel his side's title hopes and put pressure on United. Mancini's men have 77 points with four matches remaining, including a potentially title-deciding home game with United which has 79 from one game fewer. At the other end of the table Blackburn Rovers's hopes of avoiding relegation suffered a big blow after a 3-0 defeat at Swansea City. Bottom club Wolverhampton Wanderers look almost certain to slip out of the top flight after a 0-0 draw at Sunderland left them eight points from safety. Queens Park Rangers, two points above the drop zone, went down 1-0 at West Bromwich.
