A continued need for care for female prisoners in jail and those released, has led to the establishment of a women's commission to oversee their needs. Maj. Gen. Ali Bin Husein Al-Harthi, director general of prisons said the Women's Commission would supervise the welfare of released female prisoners and their families in the Kingdom. The Commission would operate as a consultative body for the main committee, which will oversee the welfare of all prisoners. Female applicants for the Commission positions will be selected using the same criteria as male candidates. – Al
