The Civil Defense has rescued two young men who spent two days in the wilderness surrounded by wolves about 40 kilometers from their home. A Civil Defense helicopter was able to locate cousins Waddad and Nafil Al-Sibai'i in Harat Al-Kharma. A guide helped the Civil Defense find the two men. The cousins had gone on a trip outside their town for a few days after recent rainfall. On their way back home, they got lost, and their car ran out of gas and got stuck. They tried unsuccessfully to get their car going again. They then decided to call their family for help, who in turn called the Civil Defense. The Civil Defense sent out a helicopter to search for them after advising them to burn their spare tire. Some citizens also helped in the search. A guide saw the smoke from the burning spare tire. Waddad told Okaz/Saudi Gazette they got lost while they were searching for the right road to get back home. “Our car got stuck in a rugged place and we failed to free it. We stayed two days in the wilderness surrounded by wolves. We were hungry, thirsty and very tired. The Civil Defense played a major role in locating us, thanks to Allah.” Nafil said: “The Civil Defense team and our family reassured and calmed us. We were very worried. They told us to set the spare tire on fire to help the helicopter locate us. We were scared to death because the area was teeming with wolves.” The family of both young men thanked the Civil Defense for their swift response. Alitha Al-Sibai'i, who found the young men, said the area where they went missing, around 40 kilometers from their home, is unpopulated and full of wolves. “The two young men were found at night and were in good condition.” __
