corruption agency, National Accountability Bureau (NAB), has relieved as many as 126 officers in pay scale 16 and above due to budgetary constraints. Out of the 126 officers, 85 were employed on contract basis and 41 on deputation. The deputationists have been repatriated to their parent departments, a NAB statement said. The relieving of such a large number of personnel marks the present government's policy to gradually wind up the NAB. In June this year, the government drastically cut down the annual budget for the NAB, which has forced the agency to slash its staff. __
