Yaya Toure's deflected equalizer earned Manchester City a 1-1 draw at Stoke City Saturday to reclaim top spot in the Premier League from champion Manchester United. Toure's long-range blast, which deceived Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic after flicking off Ryan Shawcross, cancelled out Peter Crouch's magnificent volley which had given Stoke a 59th minute lead and had threatened serious harm to City's title bid. City joined United on 70 points but edged top on goal difference, although United can go three points clear if it beats Fulham at Old Trafford Monday. Chelsea drew 0-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur — a result that left it five points behind its fourth-placed rival and eight shy of Arsenal, which consolidated third place with a 3-0 defeat of Aston Villa. Kieran Gibbs, Theo Walcott and Mikel Arteta secured a seventh consecutive league win for Arsenal. At the other end of the table, Wigan Athletic gave its survival prospects a boost with a shock 2-1 victory at seventh-placed Liverpool, which has now won only twice in 11 league games. Bolton Wanderers earned an emotional 2-1 triumph over fellow relegation candidates Blackburn Rovers in its first match since Fabrice Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest at Tottenham last weekend. Queens Park Rangers replaced Bolton in the bottom three after a 3-1 loss at Sunderland, with French striker Djibril Cisse sent off for the visitors for the second time since his January move from Lazio. Wolverhampton Wanderers stayed bottom after losing 2-1 at Norwich — their fourth straight loss — but next-to-last. Everton won 2-0 at midtable rival Swansea in the other match. Ibrahimovic lifts Inter Zlatan Ibrahimovic's late goal helped AC Milan beat Roma 2-1 Saturday and move provisionally seven points clear at the top of Serie A. Pablo Osvaldo gave Roma the lead against the run of play at the end of the first half, but Ibrahimovic leveled from the spot after Daniele de Rossi handled in the area. The game seemed to be heading for a draw before Ibrahimovic scored again seven minutes from time. It was a deserved win for Milan, which had dominated for long periods and hit the woodwork twice through Stephan El Shaarawy and Sulley Muntari. Milan is seven points clear of Juventus, which host Inter Milan Sunday. The result will also boost Milan's confidence ahead of the first leg of its Champions League quarterfinal against Barcelona Wednesday.
