Jotun Paints UAE Ltd (LLC), the leading producer of paints and surface coatings, has been awarded the “Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Business Award 2007” in the manufacturing category. Under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, the event was an initiative led by the Dubai Chamber to acknowledge businesses that significantly contribute to the economic development of the country.
The winners of the award have been selected according to a set of criteria, which measures their competencies in terms of overall management and performance. Under the “management criteria” Jotun has proved that they have strong leadership perspectives, strategic initiatives, quality imperatives, corporate culture and corporate social responsibility (CSR). According to Dubai Chamber, any organization, which embraces this set of management criteria are most likely to show outstanding results within the “performance criteria”, which measures achievements in business output, outcome and impact.
“Over the last 33 years, we have continued to grow and improve our business processes; however, this accolade is an exceptional honor for us, as it appreciates our contribution to the development of a rapidly-growing market that is the UAE,” said Trine Finnevolden, general manager, Jotun UAE.
“In addition to the prestige of receiving an award from prominent industry and government organisations, we definitely value the opportunity to benchmark ourselves against other manufacturing companies across the UAE. The feedback that we receive drives us to continually improve, creating new initiatives to better address the needs of the market and our valued customers,” said Peter Holyoak, quality assurance manager, Jotun UAE.
Jotun's operation is being guided by its strong leadership principles based on its core values of loyalty, care, respect and boldness and the implementation of strategic initiatives that are focused on profit, position, people and innovation. In addition to its significant accomplishments in the sales, marketing and manufacturing front, Jotun has also been acknowledged for its sizeable investments in developing the quality of its human resources. __
