A new book entitled "Banks, Snakes and Ladders" by a Saudi author Mamdooh Al-Raddadi was officially launched here Friday during a signing ceremony at Virgin Mega Store on Tahliyah Street. The book comprises 17 chapters and is designed as a guide to success for both the individuals and employers in the world of banking and corporate as well. Mamdooh Al-Raddadi, a service industry and personal consultant and the founder of E.Y.E.S (Examine Your Existing Services) company for service consultancy, told the Gazette that the book acts as a private consultant and coach to guide the applicant or the newly employed individual and bank or corporate owner. The book contains a condensation of soft personal experiences of more than 15 years in banking and private companies. Al-Raddadi said the name of the book suddenly hit him one day after reading the manuscript that his career is as if he was in a jungle or a game like the "Snakes and Ladders". He added that this very game he recalls from his childhood came up to his mind where one wrong move, roll of the dice, gets a deadly bite of a snake which in turn causes the player to slip many steps back or sometimes cause the player to lose. The ladder(s) – Al-Raddadi represents the way up in your career and on the other hand the snake(s) represents the mistakes or slips the employee or the employer may commit in carrying out the jobs. "After 15 years of banking and working almost in many fields you can imagine, from posts like customer services to country management, I am glad to put forward through this book my experience with tips and advices that help in avoiding the mistakes many individuals and corporate may make. Thus, this book takes the reader into a journey uncovering all the pitfalls and then arms the reader with the proper thoughts and strategies not only to thrive and succeed, but to reach to his highest potential in his career", Al Raddadi pointed out. The book is intentionally written in English and at the same time addressing mostly Arabic readers because it aims at targeting certain group in the Saudi society who works in the banking sector where English is commonly in use more than Arabic especially in the internal communications and electronic messaging between the administration and the staff members. "An Arabic version of the book will appear by November or December hopefully," he added. __
