Corruption Society (NACC) has found during their inspection tours several public projects delayed beyond their deadlines. The projects include construction of roads, hospitals, health centers and sewage systems. Citizens reported the violations to NACC, according to a statement by the anti-corruption body released Saturday. The NACC said its field inspectors registered these violations and that it is coordinating with concerned authorities to find out the reasons behind these violations and those responsible for them. The statement said that some projects were not implemented as per specifications, while others were pure violations. NACC has asked concerned authorities to find out if the contractor or the consultant is responsible for the mistakes, and hold the guilty party responsible. The guilty party will be required to pay the repair costs, the statement said. NACC found some facilities and buildings in a dilapidated condition. Most delayed projects are in remote villages and areas, the statement added. NACC noticed that some supervisory bodies did not play their role well. NACC called on contractors to be honest and supervisory bodies to follow up with the implementation of the projects. The NACC will continue carrying out its inspection tours and hold negligent contractors responsible, the statement said.
