The Pakistan Executive Group (PEG) Jeddah organized here a function on the Pakistani economy and investment opportunities on March 10. Dr. Junaid Ahmed, Chairman at National Management Consultants (NMC) in Karachi, was the guest speaker. Dr. Ahmed lectured on “The National Economy: The Way Forward” and gave top eight ideas for investments for overseas Pakistanis. He also spoke about how companies can move forward, improve performance and go into profitable ventures. PEG members, as well as Sohail Ali Khan and Qamar Raja from the Consulate General of Pakistan, attended the lectures. The speaker encouraged Pakistanis living abroad to come and invest in Pakistan in the following projects: halal food, gamma radiation production plant, intensive fish farming, essential oils and perfumery, livestock and meat processing, franchising, gemstone lapidary unit, health clubs and spas. He explained in detail the investment opportunities in these areas and offered to provide his consulting services in completing the said projects. Dr. Ahmed has assisted in setting up over 200 industrial and commercial projects, and in bringing more than 25 multinational companies to Pakistan during the last 25 years. He has also been involved in establishing three universities: LUMS, Hamdard University and Foundation University, all of which are financially self-sustaining and are not dependent on government funding. He has completed over 1,350 studies in the areas of management, finance, economics, engineering, policy and strategy. At the end of the program, PEG President Munir Gondal presented Dr. Ahmed the Shield of PEG. __
