No Mercy emerges as best team
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 16 - 07 - 2008

No Mercy Team displayed brilliant performance at FEDBG-FMBL 6th Conference Bowling Competition at Bowling City 17th Week, by establishing high series w-hdcap of 2,926 against Romblomanon's 2,707 to take the Team of the Week, which entitled them for free meals courtesy of City Restaurant.
Mohammed Sahel spearheaded his line-up with 189, 252 and 201 for a 642 total series. Not far from Sahel's excellence was team skipper Adnan Althiga contributing 605 w-hdcap (from 172, 229 and 204). Romblomanon's Andy Yumena and Larry Lachica tried to block the Saudis charge but their effort vanished from consistent display.
Arnold Santoc wowed spectators when he highlighted the match between Micah's Pride and Luvenor. Santoc at his peak averaged 212 scratch rolled 253, 209 and 193 for 655 overall total output. His impressive crack for landslide win for his team was recognized with Kanny Milk Powder Male Bowler of the Week. The win helped Micah's cling to the top spot and gave no gained points to rival Luvenor. The pair of Oca Bernabe and team skipper Francis Alquiros assisted Santoc in giving a clean sweep with above par 596 and 564 total series respectively.
Golden Saba continued to improve standing by handing defeat to Fireball Team. The Goldies accumulated 2,696 total output against Fireball's 2,729. Ernie Geslani's team edged Rey Feleciano's Fireball in Games 1 and 2 but rebounded in Game 3 to take four points and took also five points for having more pins with hdcap. In the same match lady bowler Anne Felesmenia scored 637 total series w-hdcap to emerge as Kanny Lady Bowler of the Week.
Other winners: Saudia Prime Lane Armors won over Waraynon Habagat while Bowling City is Fun overcame its odds against The Champoy at 16-4 card. Shawly Bowlers took 12 points against Cobra's 8.
Golden Saba took 3 honors in 18th Week: Jimmy Leonida was proclaimed Male Bowler of the Week when he led two Golden Saba bowlers against BCIF at 2,993-2,750 total output. Leonida produced 670 total series from rounds of 215, 213 and 188 and Ernie Geslanie with 632 (224, 201 and 174). Anne Felesmenia shared par excellence 591 total series for a back-to-back lady bowler honor. Likewise, Golden Saba bagged the Team of the Week distinction.
Most of the attention this week had been focused on Micah's Pride when it took advantage of the unproductive output of Saudia Prime Lane Armors to prevail at 16-4 against the latter, cutting the leader's lead to only 3 points.
The KEY-Rent-A-Car-sponsored Champoy improved its standing with 18-2 win over the restaurateurs Shawly Bowlers while Waraynon Habagat crushed Romblomanon at the same score. Fireball Team and No Mercy won over Cobra and Luvenor respectively at an identical 16-4. __
