The Saudi Engineers Association (SEA) has discovered 550 fake engineering degrees submitted by foreign engineers for documentation, said Abdullah Bugshan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Engineers Association. He said the association has referred the case to the authorities concerned for action against the forgers. He said the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has drawn up an integrated plan in conjunction with a number of universities and government agencies to train Saudi engineers. He said he discussed with Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabea, Minister of Commerce and Industry, the necessary arrangements for the enforcement of a new salary scale approved by the Ministry of Civil Service and the importance of all government agencies supporting the association. Meanwhile, Saud Al-Ahmadi, SEA Deputy Chairman, said Bugshan discussed with the minister ways of implementing the recommendations and decisions adopted by the participants of the 26th Arab Engineering Conference held in Jeddah last week on Water Resources in Arab Countries. He said one of the most important recommendations focused on upgrading the level of water and environment awareness in Arab countries besides activating the participation of Arab civil societies in the area of water conservation.
