Strengthening bilateral relationships among friendly countries, as well as exploring investment opportunities and possibilities in health education, was the agenda of a recent high-profile diplomatic dinner-reception at a hotel here. The affair was arranged by Dr. Mansour Memon, a noted physician, social worker and diplomatic acquaintance in Riyadh. The initiative, led by his wife Dr. Erum Qalbani, is aimed at spreading the message that Pakistan promotes peace and is supportive of the international community in efforts to establish peace and prosperity. Dr. Qalbani held thought-provoking discussions with key ambassadors and their spouses from the following countries: Canada, China, Germany, Norway, New Zealand, the Philippines, Sweden, Switzerland, Taipei, and the UK. Other countries' deputy heads of mission were also present. Ambassador of Pakistan Naeem Khan praised the unique initiative, speaking very highly of the Memon family and their promotion of Pakistani culture and ideology “in a very dignified way.” Khan also underscored Pakistan's warm relationship with the international community. “It is the Memon family's personal initiative to inspire many and this reflects the highest degree of hospitality,” said Alauddin Al Askari, the deputy minister for protocol affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dr. Memon's vision is “to teach the triple truth to all: a generous heart, kind speech and a life of service and compassion —the things that renew humanity.”
