Alfaisal University in Riyadh has announced that it is accepting applications for admission for the new academic year of 2008-2009. Prince Bandar Bin Saud Bin Khaled, Chairman of the Executive Committee and member of the Board of Trustees, said in a press release that the University is now welcoming interested students and their families to the new admissions office in the King Faisal Palace in the Al-Ma'ather District of Riyadh. He added that depending on their qualifications, students will be accepted for direct admission to the University or into the University Preparatory Program, and that the top ten students in the Kingdom would be offered full scholarships. Prince Bandar said that Alfaisal University was a student centered, research based, private, non-profit institution, with national and international affiliation with top educational institutions, such as, Partners Harvard Medical International (PHMI), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the King Faisal Specialist Hospital (KFSH). Dr. Alan Goodridge, the Provost and Acting President of Alfaisal University, extended a warm welcome to new applicants and their families and stated: “The family of the late King Faisal and the King Faisal Foundation has bestowed a great gift upon the people of Saudi Arabia with the creation of the world-class Alfaisal University. We welcome parents and students to learn about the University by visiting our new admissions office in the King Faisal Palace in Al Ma'ather.” The University aims at producing scientists, doctors, and leaders who will contribute to achieving King Abdullah's, vision for a prosperous Saudi Arabia and a better future for its people. __
