Published in The Saudi Gazette on 27 - 02 - 2012

Freshman Anthony Davis scored a career-high 28 points on 10-of-11 shooting, and No. 1 Kentucky beat Vanderbilt 83-74 Saturday to win the Southeastern Conference regular season title for the 45th time.
The Wildcats (28-1, 14-0) have won 51 straight at home and are on a 20-game winning streak overall. But Kentucky trailed at halftime and needed a late surge to put away the scrappy Commodores.
No. 5 Duke 70, Virginia Tech 65, OT: Austin Rivers scored 23 points, Seth Curry added 19 and No. 5 Duke held off Virginia Tech in overtime.
Miles Plumlee added 15 rebounds and two free throws with 9.6 seconds left for the Blue Devils (25-4, 12-2), who made 6 of 8 foul shots in the final minute of OT to win their sixth straight and remain atop the Atlantic Coast Conference standings.
No. 7 North Carolina 54, No. 25 Virginia 51: Tyler Zeller scored 20 points, including a critical dunk with 13.3 seconds left and the shot clock winding down, and No. 7 North Carolina beat No. 25 Virginia to sweep the season series.
John Henson added 15 points, including 11 in the second half, as the Tar Heels (25-4, 12-2) kept pace with No. 5 Duke for first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Blue Devils beat Virginia Tech 70-65 in overtime Saturday.
No. 9 Georgetown 67, Villanova 46: Freshman Otto Porter had 15 points and six rebounds in his second start of the season, Jason Clark had 15 points and six rebounds, and No. 9 Georgetown took a big lead early and never trailed in a win over Villanova.
The victory moves the Hoyas (21-6, 11-5) into sole possession of fourth place in the Big East, one-half game ahead of Cincinnati and South Florida, who play Sunday. The top four teams get a double-bye in the conference tournament
Purdue 75, No. 11 Michigan 61: Terone Johnson scored a career-high 22 points and Robbie Hummel added 17 to help Purdue upset No. 11 Michigan, handing the Wolverines their first home loss of the season.
