The fifth day of the 5th Asian Consuls General Film Festival here Thursday featured a host of Malaysian films showcasing the country's melting pot of races and eclectic cultures. The screening attracted around 200 people, including a number of ACGC (Asian Consuls General Club) diplomats, members of the OIC Secretariat, Saudi citizens and media persons in the premises of the Malaysian Consulate. Malaysian Consul General Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak introduced the night's feature films, the first of which was “Kuala Lumpur, My City.” The documentary film introduced the capital city of Malaysia and showed the everyday lives of the multi-racial community. The award-winning, 110-minute epic action-adventure called “Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa” (“The Malay Chronicles: Bloodlines”) featured Malaysia in the year 120 AD, and showed how one Malay warrior brought together two great civilizations from the East and the West. The Consul General also provided insights into the excellent relations between his country and the Kingdom, citing encouraging trade and tourism figures. __
