owned Harrods Store in London instructs staff to collect information on its clients from the UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in a daily report to be referred to department head, according to a report in UAEBARQ online portal. The site confirmed that the management of the well-known London store Harrods, which is owned by the State of Qatar, issued an internal memo Wednesday saying: "Any purchases through credit cards by persons in the Kingdom, United Arab Emirates (UAE) or Bahrain should be noted in a daily report that will be referred to the head of department at the end of duty. This will continue to be implemented until further notice." The reason behind this move is not known, but social media was quick to respond to the news, with many expressing surprise and a number of them seeking an investigation. The tweet by Abdulaziz Alnajjar summed it up. He tweets from his handle @aaalnajjar: #UK Officials should not accept #Harrods of #London being part of #Qatar's degrading acts against #GCC customers. Kindly investigate! — SG
