RIYADH – The Shoura Council on Monday approved the draft law for the transportation of Umrah pilgrims to and from the Kingdom and their respective countries. The session was chaired by its President Sheikh Abdullah Al-Asheikh. Yahya Al-Samaan, assistant president of the Council, said that the law contains 15 articles that spell out the duties and responsibilities of transporters and their agents to the Ministry of Haj and Umrah, Ministry of Transport, General Authority of Civil Aviation, and General Authority of Ports with regard to transportation of the pilgrims. Al-Samaan said the Council took the decision after listening to a report of its committee for Haj, housing and services which was prepared after taking into account of the viewpoints of the Council members about the draft agreement read out earlier by the committee President Mufreh Al-Zahrani.
