ORGANIZED by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), the inaugural edition of the Manarat Al Saadiyat Ramadan Evenings running from June 4-17, 2017 offers unique design concepts as part of the Iftars. It is open daily between 7pm - 11.30pm. As a feature of the extensive range of cultural experiences available during the evenings Ramadan at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Al Fanar restaurant will provide a unique dining experience, presenting a contemporary interpretation of traditional designs inspired by the architecture of the UAE during the 1980s and 1990s. Sumayya Alsuweidi, Community Events Manager, TCA Abu Dhabi, said: " Celebrating the importance of friends and family throughout the community, the Iftars at Manarat Al Saadiyat Ramadan Evenings will invite guests to enjoy an inclusive dining experience inspired by Emirati culture, bridging modern innovative design with core aesthetic elements from our traditional heritage." The Iftars will be curated by renowned designer Maryam Al Suwaidi, creative florist Sumayya Al Miskari and talented Emirati chef Faisal Naser. Featuring a variety of tailored panels, table vases and furniture that utilise evocative elements of Emirati design, guests will be able to learn more about the origins of these traditional elements through written narrations provided on their table placemats. Under the hashtag #our_old_neighborhood, the Iftars will present an inspired menu crafted by chef Faisal Naser based in Arabic/Emirati fusion cuisine. While starters invoke timeless classics such as sambosa, lentil soup and freshly fried falafel, the main course provides an eclectic selection of dishes from prawn machboos and lamb margogah to chicken musakhan and twisted fish salonah. The dessert offerings complete the menu with delicacies including karak chai with rosewater ice cream and brownies complete with date pudding and caramel ice cream. " Reflecting the program's educational aspect for Ramadan Evenings, the concepts offered at the Iftars will encourage families and residents to engage with the unique values and cultural heritage of the UAE through an environment inspired by architecture belonging to our long history," Alsuweidi added. The Manarat Al Saadiyat Ramadan Evenings offer an engaging interactive program of activities in a cultural creative atmosphere, weaving contemporary aspects with traditional values to provide a comprehensive experience that communicates the unique cultural heritage of the UAE.
