Saudi Gazette The National Retirees Association and Theeb Rental Car Company have collectively decided that Saudi retirees will be charged a lower fare on car rentals than the average fare. Any senior citizen who presents a National Retirees Association membership card will receive a 12 percent discount on the company's daily car rental rate. The director of the National Retirees Association, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Shareef, told Al-Watan daily, “Around 17,000 retirees in the Kingdom have become members of the association. Due to an overwhelming number of complaints we received from our members on high car rental charges the association worked hard to find a solution for this problem. The pact signed with Theeb Rental Car will make renting a car much easier and more affordable for retirees, especially those with special needs.” In addition to the discount, the senior citizen will also be allowed to travel 200 km per day without any extra charges, and the car can be returned back after three hours, much later than the stipulated time. If it is a one-way trip to another city in the Kingdom, the retirees are eligible for a 30 percent discount. They can also call and reserve a car 24 hours in advance during low season. These discounts and services will be provided at all branches of Theeb Car Rental in the Kingdom along with being available at airports and train stations. __
