JUI wants to see Pakistan a truly Islamic welfare state: Gul Naseeb
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 24 - 05 - 2017

Saudi Gazette
JEDDAH — "Pakistan is the only country in the entire Muslim world that was created in the name of Islam but unfortunately the pro-West rulers have never allowed it to be an Islamic state," said Jamiat-Ulmae Islam's Khyber Pakthunkhwa provincial chief Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan in an exclusive interview to Saudi Gazette.
He was in the Kingdom to perform Umrah. Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan was a senator in the Senate of Pakistan, (the upper legislative chamber of the bicameral legislature of Pakistan) for 9 years.
"Since the birth of Pakistan, JUI has been safeguarding the Islamic identity of our Constitution that encapsulates provisions stipulating the legal system's compliance with Islamic injunctions contained in the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah. JUI is the only political party that had accelerated efforts to make Pakistan a truly Islamic welfare state. We will never allow anybody to impose anti-Islamic agenda at any cost," he added.
"The challenges to the Islamic world and our country, from the Western civilization are many. Unfortunately our leaders are putting aside our Islamic values and helping the West in implementing its values and its political hegemony. A truly Islamic welfare state is in the interest of our people because Islam believes in equality," he said.
"Imran Khan's party doesn't have guts. His struggle is illogical. He is in political disarray. To some extent Tahirul Qadiri and his Pakistan Awami Tehreek appealed to our people but now it has lost its charm," he said while answering a question. "The real champion of Pakistan and Pakistani people's cause is Maulana Fazlur Rahman and our party JUI," Khan said.
"In our 3-day JUI-F Centennial Congregation (April 7-9, 2017) in Nowshera, Khyber Pakthunkhwa, the attendance of 4 million people shows that we are the most influential party in Pakistan. I assume that after getting a majority in the Pakistani parliamentary elections in 2018 we would be able to clear up the mess by our self-centered politicians," he said.
"Up to 18th century madrasas were producing leaders for the Islamic Ummah in each and every walk of life. Their quality of education was parallel to any modern Western university. But nowadays, due to the lack of moral and financial support from any powerful political center, they are not able to impart world-class education. We are running 50,000 madrasas without state's support. Our affiliation is with Darul Uloom Deoband. We provide value-based education," he explained while replying to a question.
"Islam means submission to the Will of God. Terrorism is against our religion. Being Muslims we believe in peace and harmony," Khan concluded with these words.
