The Shoura Council's Saudi-German Parliamentary Friendship Committee met here Wednesday with a delegation of German social democrats to discuss ways to strengthen political, parliamentary, economic and cultural ties. The Saudi side was led by Dr. Salem Bin Ali Al-Qahtani, chairman of the friendship committee. The German side was headed by Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, a member of the German parliament, head of the Social-Democratic Coalition and former minister of foreign affairs. Meanwhile, Dr. Muhammad Al-Salem, Chairman of the Saudi-Georgian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, held a meeting in Riyadh with Ekaterine Meiering-Mikadze, Ambassador of the Georgia Republic in Kuwait. Both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Shoura Council and the Georgian parliament.
