THE Company for Cooperative Insurance (Tawuniya) has signed an agreement with the Saudi Ministry of Health (MOH) to provide healthcare services in 110 MOH-affiliated healthcare facilities and approved by the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI). The agreement was signed in the Ministry's head office in Riyadh by the MOH General Supervisor of Health Economics Okab Munahi Aboud and Tawuniya Vice President- Medical & Takaful Insurance Omar Abdulrahman Al-Mahmood. This agreement aims to promote public sector participation in healthcare, and benefit from the experiences provided by the insurance sector to improve performance and investment efficiency in the healthcare field as well as to ensure high-quality health care services to the individuals. Under the agreement, Tawuniya will cover medical services to insured citizens and residents enabling them to benefit from several services through a large network of medical centers and hospitals affiliated to Saudi Ministry of Health. Omar Abdulrahman Al-Mahmood, Vice President, Medical & Takaful Insurance in Tawuniya, expressed his delight about the partnership with the public healthcare sector which will accelerate the development of the financial process and the healthcare insurance and provide an efficient environment to enhance the performance of healthcare providers. He said "this agreement is aligned with the National Transformation Program and the Kingdom›s Vision 2030, to enhance partnership between the private and public healthcare sectors to provide financial resources and raise the healthcare effectiveness. This move will also provide treatment for a large number of beneficiaries by increasing the capacity to cover the demand for medical services. Especially in areas where private hospitals do not exist, there will be more reliance on public hospitals' presence and this will get us closer to our customers to provide additional services and options for them."— SG
