Englishman Lee Westwood took the third-round lead at the Dubai Desert Classic after shooting a 5-under 67 Saturday to go one shot clear of Rafael Cabrera-Bello of Spain and two others. Westwood, three shots behind US Open champion Rory McIlroy and Thomas Bjorn at the start of the third round, had three birdies in his first four holes to move up the leaderboard. He birdied the 13th for a share of the lead with Bjorn and then went ahead by one when the Dane bogeyed the 15th. Cabrera-Bello birdied the 18th to finish with a 3-under 70 to remain tied for second with Stephen Gallacher (68) of Scotland and Marcel Siem (68) of Germany. German Martin Kaymer (70) and Northern Irishman McIlroy (72) are among four players with a share of fifth place, two shots back. Bjorn (73) was a further shot back. Wi holds onto lead Wi sets pace, Woods six back Charlie Wi evaded the worst of the weather and birdied three of his last six holes to surge three shots clear in Friday's second round of the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am as Tiger Woods finished six strokes adrift. South Korean Wi, among three players tied for the lead overnight, fired a three-under-par 69 at Pebble Beach Golf Links, one of three venues being used this week, to post a 12-under total of 130. American world No. 10 Dustin Johnson, tournament champion in 2009 and 2010, was alone in second after carding a 72 on the tricky Spyglass Hill layout. Fijian Vijay Singh, who returned a 68 at Spyglass, was a further shot back at eight under with New Zealander Danny Lee (73), Irishman Padraig Harrington (66) and Americans Brian Gay (65) and Brendon Todd (69). In pursuit of his first PGA Tour victory, Wi eagled the par-four 13th, his fourth hole of the day, before ending his round in topsy-turvy fashion - birdie-bogey-birdie-par-birdie-bogey - as mist and then rain swept across the course. Woods was also left frustrated after shooting a two-under 68 at Monterey Peninsula, the easiest of the three layouts. Three-time winner Phil Mickelson carded a 65 at Monterey Peninsula to finish five strokes off the lead, level in a large group with fellow US Ryder Cup player Hunter Mahan (70). Korda leads Australian Open American teenager Jessica Korda held a one-stroke lead after the third round of the Women's Australian Open at Royal Melbourne Saturday. The 18-year-old rookie, daughter of former tennis champion Petr Korda, fired par-73 in windy conditions to lead South Koreans Ryu So-Yeon and Seo Hee-Kyung, and Australian Nikki Campbell heading into Sunday's final round. Korda, ranked 285, carded three birdies matched by three bogeys, to vault to the top of the leader board. Overnight leader Ryu lost ground with a three-over 76 in a round of three birdies and six bogeys, while compatriot Seo had a 75. Campbell had the day's best round of three-under 70, while world number one and defending champion Yani Tseng of Taiwan shot 71 to be two off the pace. Fifteen players were within five strokes of the lead heading into the final 18 holes.
