Police here have arrested an 18-year-old Saudi student for stabbing his relative with a broken lamp. The 21-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital with wounds to the thighs and legs and was discharged later that day, according to Al-Hayat Arabic daily on Wednesday. The suspect was charged with intention to inflict bodily harm. Police said he used a broken lamp from his hotel room. He has been released on bail and will have to appear in the Queenstown District Court next Monday. Otago Daily Times, a New Zealand daily, said the perpetrator and the victim are Saudi students who are studying English in Christchurch.
