JEDDAH — Let's contribute in saving life- Blood Donation campaign was organized by Overseas Samanwaya Group to mark the 68th Republic Day of India here.
Shoukat Khan, president of the Overseas Samanwaya Group, Jeddah chapter and his team organized the blood donation campaign in Al Jeedani Group of Hospital, Al Safa Dist. as an activity of being a positive contributor to the benefit of the community.
Dr. Shanthi Vanka, hosted the campaign. The group plans to hold few awareness campaigns soon in future. The campaign Chief Guest was Indian Consul General Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh. He said that blood donation is a very good activity organized by the group for the benefit of the community and appreciated the OSG efforts. Campaign Guest of Honor Satheesh Kumar Deepak, the national coordinator of the Overseas Samanwaya Group, shared the Consul General's views and lauded his team efforts, pledging that the same campaign will be also held in Central & Eastern Region of KSA.
Guest Speaker Dr. Hiba Al Jeedani, Medical Director, spoke about India and appreciated the work of Indian community while assuring her to support whenever needed. Dr. M. Iqbal Musani, chairman Dept. of Lab Medicine, spoke about the benefits and facts of donating blood and encouraged the donors by saying that "One blood donor will helpful to 4 people and shared his valuable experience and information related to health."
Blood was donated by many people and the participation was also from the office bearers of the Overseas Samanwaya Group. Abdul Waheed, vice president of Rajasthan chapter of the group, Shahir Shan, secretary, Praveen Kumar, additional secretary of Kerala chapter of the group, Omar, additional joint,secretary, Syed Ali of Telangana chapter of group, and Abid Hussain of Uttar Pradesh chapter of the group donated blood for the noble cause of community.
The activity ended with the vote of thanks to Sheikh for his presence and honor with a plaque, Dr. Hiba Al Jeedani who too was presented a plaque, Dr. Musani and entire hospital management & entire lab team for their support with appreciation certificates, Blood Donors appreciation certificate was also given. Shoukat Khan assured all that the group would continue such activities and would have a positive impact on the community.
