MADINAH — Nareman, the mother of the abused and battered infant, is currently living in joy after getting reunited with her infant daughter Dareen. The infant was beaten by her father and strangled and her case went viral in social media. The mother circulated the video on social media and the Ministry of Labor and Social Development was quick to react and rescue the infant from the abusive father. Nareman said her next step is to get documents for her daughter and prove parenthood to her father. Nareman is currently living in her aunt's husband apartment. The husband is currently working in a car repair shop in Maidnah. Okaz/Saudi Gazette visited the apartment and met with Nareman holding her infant. Nareman said, "My daughter is in good condition. She suffered from light fever but she is recovering now. I think she was sick because of the abuse she was receiving under her father." The mother does not want to go through the details again so she will not be negatively affected. She said that she received many advises from people not to talk to media again. Nareman is a 23-year-old Syrian who lives in Madinah with her father. She was born in Syrian and moved to Madinah where she studied in elementary, middle and high school. She was not able to continue her university education because of family circumstances. Nareman told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that she was trying to get custody of her daughter through a lawyer, but the latter was not supportive. She came up with the idea to create a Twitter account seeking support to get her daughter. When the video went viral, authorities intervened and she won the custody of the infant.
