RIYADH — The stage is set for the grand finale of Youm Al-Watani Cup YWC-16. The 4th Youm Al-Watani championship match will be played between Sama Steel and Pak Shaheen Friday. The two teams have been gearing up well with long practice sessions. The final will be played at the newly set Ground 5 of Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) Sports Complex. All the organizations of cricket from all the provinces of the Kingdom have been invited to watch the match. Soon after the final the prize distribution will be held at the ground. The YWC-16 is jointly organized by RCA and GK International Indian Sports Club (GKIISC) under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC). YWC is played as part of Kingdom's National Day celebrations. As far as teams are concerned both have played excellent cricket and they are unbeaten so far in the tourney. Both have good combination in bowling, batting and fielding. Pak Shaheen has Abdul Waheed, Ibrar and Faisal, backed up by captain Abdul Wahab. At the other side, Sama Steel relies on Rizwan, Ijaz Raja, Rashid, Hadi and Asif. Both teams are led by experienced captains Abdul Wahab and Asif Butt. It will be a fine tussle between bat and ball. Many organization heads are expected to grace the occasion, including SCC CEO Nadeem Nadwi and RCA's Tariq Javed. The Pakistan Falcon team has won the Shameem Khan Fair Play Trophy, sponsored by Arab National Bank this year. The trophy will be presented to the team during the final. The championship match will begin at 7.15 a.m. The umpires are Iftekhar Ali and Munawar Shafi. Nasir Mahmood Abbasi will be the match referee.
