Qaderoon Business Disability Network members who visited Savola Group recently were presented with the Group's journey in employing persons with disabilities along with its support program "Makeen". Tarik Ismail, Executive Director – Corporate Affairs, Sustainability & Board Secretary of Savola Group, showcased their experience in employing persons with disabilities, and providing an inclusive work environment through providing fully accessible premises and work accommodations. Successful employees with disabilities in the Group shared their stories, and the benefits of providing proper accommodations in increasing their work productivity. Engineer Mukhtar Al-Shibani, a founding member, former president of The Global Alliance on Accessible Technologies and Environments (GAATES), presented principles of inclusion in architectural design and communication technologies so that everyone, including persons with disabilities and older persons, are able to fully participate and contribute to society. Khalid Sindi, Executive Manager of Qaderoon Network, said the visit coincided with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated annually on December 3, when Qaderoon Network advocates the change of stereotypical attitudes toward persons with disabilities, and emphasizes the importance of raising awareness about their rights, and as stated in the Saudi 2030 Vision that "we will enable our persons with disabilities in getting proper job opportunities and education that ensures their independence and inclusion as effective elements in the society. We will also provide them with all the tools needed to succeed."
