Tabuk Mayoralty has been ranked second among the Kingdom's mayoralties for the fiscal year 2011-2012 in terms of adopting fast measures to award contracts and optimally utilizing its budget. The mayoralty has improved the infrastructure and services of Tabuk by implementing development projects such as road work, street lighting, and flood and drainage systems, and by building parks, gardens and bridges and fencing cemeteries. In 2011, Tabuk Mayoralty asphalted 730,000 square meters of roads and installed 1,000 light poles. It carried out a technical hydrological study to prevent the risks of floods and reduced the number of road intersections with valleys. The mayoralty gave special attention to developing the entrances and main roads of the city. It also increased the green areas of the city. Traffic congestion was dealt with and the movement of traffic at the intersection of main roads was facilitated by building bridges. The cost of all development projects implemented last year was more than SR117 million. The newly-approved projects for the coming year will cost about SR650 million.
