Instagram's major update recently features a story, similar to the 24-hour snaps by Snap Inc. According to Instagram, 100 million people visit the explore tab to find photos and videos from accounts they don't yet. Adding stories will be visible as well. Instagam faced a declining rate of sharing which led them to introduce the stories feature. Additionally, Snapchat was quickly becoming the default place to share and socialize among the young generation. The company says that one-third of its 300 million daily users interact with stories every day. However, it's not exactly the same as Snapchat that has filters, geotags, and face alternations. Instagram is on a more open platform without users having to add by username or QR code.
