RIYADH — The Council of Ministers on Monday reiterated the Kingdom's determination to foil the attempts of evil forces to harm the security and stability of the nation and the sanctity of the holy sites of Muslims. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman chaired the weekly session of the Cabinet at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of State, Member of Cabinet and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Essam Bin Saad said the Cabinet denounced the firing of ballistic missile by the Houthi militias from the Yemeni region of Saada toward Makkah. The missile was intercepted by air defense forces and destroyed before it reached its destination without causing any damages. The Cabinet slammed the Houthi militia for transgressing the sanctity of the holy places and disregarding the feelings of Muslims by targeting the Haram of Allah. It appreciated the worldwide condemnation and disapproval of the vicious act. The session confirmed their rejection of this dangerous and ugly transgression. The Cabinet appreciated the efforts of the brave personnel of various armed forces in safeguarding the Kingdom's security and protecting its borders and defending its sanctities. It also lauded the efforts of the security forces in their fight against terrorist activities, and track down and apprehend those involved in such acts. The session specially noted the arrest of a terrorist cell associated with Daesh (the so-called IS) abroad, as well as the foiling of a terrorist plot to blow up Al-Jawhara Football Stadium at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. ß The Cabinet reiterated the determination of the security forces in continuing their efforts to cut the hands of evil forces so as to prevent them from carrying out their acts of terror.
