King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has awarded SR3 million to 140 General Auditing Bureau (GAB) workers. The King granted the payment in light of the workers sincere efforts in safeguarding and preserving public money. “Every year the GAB director sends a report to King Abdullah listing the names of employees who persevere in fighting corruption and protecting public money. The award money seeks to encourage these employees to exert more and more efforts to fight corruption,” a source said. The amount of money employees received was decided by a special committee using standards such as punctuality and scoring high in job assessments. A number of employees were so exemplary in their duty that they were awarded three extra salaries as compensation. __
