All Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will now be able to access the medical tests of all workers trying to find employment in any GCC member state. This is according to Dr. Tawfiq Bin Ahmad Khoja, the Director-General of the GCC Health Ministers' Executive Bureau. He made the comment while addressing a training workshop on the e-program in Riyadh on Sunday. The program covers 265 medical examination centers in 11 countries, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Philippines, Nepal, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and Syria. Khoja said the centers in these countries examined over two million workers in 2010 and found over 1.8 million medically fit for work in GCC countries. He said the greatest advantage of the program is that a worker will not be able to enter any GCC member state without meeting the medical conditions set by the region's health ministers. This is to ensure the safety of GCC citizens.
