Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa launched its all-in-one hybrid drone Ballooncam designed for stadiums and sports events at GITEX this week along with other of its visual display technologies.
The Ballooncam prototype made its first appearance outside Japan at GITEX Technology Week where thousands of visitors visited the largest IT exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Center.
"The Ballooncam is able to move safely in the stadium with a camera and get closer to see faces in the audience making it a new entertainment activity," said Masaki Arizono, vice president of AVC Networks Company and member of the board of Panasonic Corporation.
The 7-kg Ballooncam that can fly up to 50 minutes is designed to capture closer visual images of the audience at stadiums. It also claims to be safely used in Japan's baseball stadiums and is to be proposed to Middle East and Africa market.
The latest drone by Panasonic is set to change the future of mega events with innovative features that enable it to produce high-resolution videos and relay them using a projector and LEDs, according to Panasonic executives.
"For the forthcoming mega events such as the World Expo 2020 in Dubai and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, this technology will deliver immersive and interactive experiences," said regional managing director Sinichi Wakita at a press conference here on the latest innovative solutions displayed at GITEX.
Panasonic showcased its innovative technologies and products that are set to make business-sense, he added.
"As a global technology company we endeavor to bring game-changing technologies to meet these trending demands," Wakita said. "We are committed to drive the region's smart digital future with products and solutions, including supporting of the startup ecosystem, to ensure our customers get the best from our exciting technologies that will make perfect sense to their businesses."
Panasonic displayed solutions that cater to companies in sectors of hospitality, retail, events, and theme parks.
"Our new products and solutions are designed for the regional market, giving customers the right visual tools for their business needs," said Yasuo Yamasaki, director and head of system solutions and communications.
He added that the solutions offer a variety of digital content platforms and will be able to create an augmented reality environment with their ‘more than a screen' features.
Panasonic's Display Solutions at GITEX:
Transparent Screen puts video images onto glass windows and doors on demand. The solution switches between transparent and screen modes allowing the display windows to maintain transparent functionality as necessary and showcase digital content.
Transparent Display is a high quality signage that can switch between display and transparent modes. This introduced digital solution achieves high-definition picture in display mode and transparency in transparent mode. It would be used for display showcase.
Windows AR Projection is an innovative transparent film making augmented reality possible with large size image projection and capability to overlay information or images on the display background. The film can be installed just by sticking on glass windows or doors.
LinkRay (Light ID Solution) makes navigation easy for visitors at art galleries, museums, theme parks, amusement facilities, stadiums, and other events. It can also be used to scan products and ads to receive more information. All users have to do is point the smartphone camera towards an LED light source or the illuminated object, and the app will immediately recognize the Light ID even from a distance, eliminating the need to navigate through crowds to approach light source codes.
Using smartphones running on iOS, ID signals can be read sent by LED lightning that flickers on and off. By installing dedicated application software in the smartphone, Light IDs can be sent and received between Light ID transmitters and smartphone receivers. The latest Light SF1 is known for easier detection.
