Nissan GT-R NISMO makes debut at Jeddah's EXCS Show
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 21 - 10 - 2016

NISSAN Saudi Arabia participated in the tenth EXCS motor show. This year's EXCS, which showcases luxury automobiles, was held at the Hilton hotel in Jeddah, where Nissan showcased its NISMO range, with the 2017 GT-R NISMO supercar being the highlight of the company's display.
"Only the finest, most luxurious and desirable cars are deemed worthy of display at EXCS," said Abdul Ilah Wazni, general marketing and corporate communications manager, Nissan Saudi Arabia. "So it makes sense for Nissan to use this prestigious event to shine a spotlight on its NISMO models, particularly the 2017 GT-R NISMO, which is the ultimate distillation of our company's decades of experience at the cutting edge of world motorsport."
Previous EXCS motor shows have attracted more than 10,000 visitors and these impressive numbers are an accurate indicator of the health of the Saudi marketplace and demand for luxury and high performance vehicles. The luxury car sector takes the EXCS event very seriously and many of the industry's top automobile executives and leaders attend.
For Nissan, the NISMO brand will be promoted by the new GT-R NISMO supercar, which will go on sale in the Kingdom during 2017, as well as the all-conquering Patrol NISMO, which takes the abilities of Nissan's leading SUV to impressive new heights.
NISMO, which is a shortened form of "NISsan MOtorsports," is the performance brand for Nissan and offers products featuring innovative technology and high performance to a wide range of customers for street use. NISMO cars provide an exciting driving experience with motorsports-inspired aerodynamics and styling, enhanced handling characteristics and unmatched agility. In the motorsports world, NISMO competes in the highest forms of GT and sports car racing, such as Japan's Super GT Series, as well as providing engines to teams that compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the European Le Mans Series (ELMS).
The 2017 GT-R NISMO features fresh styling updates that perfectly fuse form and function to meet the demands placed on the car by its increased performance potential. Many of its components have been fashioned from extremely light and strong carbon fiber, and the car's shape generates more downforce than any Nissan in history. A refreshed interior incorporates a new design of dashboard for a more upmarket experience, while simplified controls make high speed driving safer and more intuitive.
The model's performance is truly exciting in every respect, with more power and improved handling characteristics developed through Nissan's extensive experience in the upper echelons of world motorsport. A specially tuned suspension system is driver adjustable and perfectly suited to the output of the hand built twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine, which generates an incredible 600PS. The engine, which is mated to a six-speed, twin-clutch transmission, utilizes high flow, large diameter turbochargers from GT3 racing.
The Nissan Patrol NISMO features an eye-catching body kit that accurately conveys a sense of its increased performance and sharpened driving dynamics. Its hand tuned 5.6-litre V8 engine produces 428PS and torque levels are improved over 70 per cent of the rev range. Again, specially tuned NISMO suspension puts the prodigious power down onto the driven surface and provides dynamic abilities like never before. Exclusive to the Middle East market, the Nissan Patrol NISMO is already available to customers in Saudi Arabia.
