Sharjah Humanitarian Services Agency has won the Prince Sultan Prize for Rehabilitation Services in recognition of its efforts in the service and rehabilitation of the handicapped. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shamekh, Executive President of Prince Sultan City for Humanitarian Services, handed over the prize to the Specialist in Humanitarian Services Samar Al-Tinaihi at a ceremony on the sidelines of the conference and exhibition on Arab Health 2012 in Dubai. The conference was attended by senior specialists in the field of health care in the region, and a number of senior government officials. The prize, launched by Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz City for Humanitarian Services for Excellence in Rehabilitation Services, aims at supporting the disabled and encouraging individuals and organizations in charge of medical rehabilitation to exert more effort according to international standards. In a statement to the UAE news agency, Dr. Al-Shamekh said the prize is considered the first of its kind in this field. The scope of the prize, he said, was expanded this year to include the participation of regional and international organizations.
