After three consecutive semifinal defeats against Spanish clubs in the Champions League, Bayern Munich heads to Atletico Madrid for Wednesday's group match with a point to prove. "We want to show that we can do better than in the last few semifinals. We certainly have a score to settle there," said Bayern forward Thomas Mueller before the team jetted off to Madrid. After the highs of beating Borussia Dortmund in the 2013 Champions League final came Bayern's lows of semifinal exits to Real Madrid, Barcelona and then Atletico in each of the last three seasons under Pep Guardiola. Atletico has won 25 of its last 30 home European games making the Estadio Vicente Calderon something of a cauldron. Last season's semifinal exit at the hands of Diego Simeone's Atletico was particularly painful for Bayern, which won the return leg 2-1 in Munich after losing 1-0 in Madrid as the Spanish side reached the final on away goals. In the other Group D game in Russia, Rostov will face PSV Eindhoven. Group A At Sofia, Ludogrets Razgrad takes on Paris Saint-Germain. It is all even in Group A with PSG squandering a host of chances before having to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to Arsenal in their opener while Ludogorets claimed a 1-1 draw away at Basel. PSG is under pressure to get a result after a patchy start to the season including a 2-0 defeat at Toulouse Friday that left it fourth in Ligue 1. The Bulgarian champion has six Brazilians in the squad but two of them, full-backs Vitinha and Cicinho, are injured. In London, Arsenal faces Basel. Things are looking up for Arsenal after it came from behind to hold PSG in their opener, seemingly putting it in control of the group. Swiss champion in each of the last seven seasons, it needed a Renato Steffen equalizer to draw with Ludogorets but has a 100 percent domestic record. Group B In Istanbul, Besiktas is up against Dynamo Kiev. After on-loan Talisca's last-gasp equalizer secured a 1-1 draw against his parent club Benfica last time out, Turkish champion Besiktas entertains Dynamo Kiev at its impressive Vodafone Arena. Senol Gunes' side is unbeaten this season and warmed up for the game by coming from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home to Galatasaray. In what could be a wide-open group, Ukrainian champion Dynamo was beaten at home by Napoli in their opener and had Serhiy Sydorchuk sent off. At Naples, Napoli plays Benfica. Last season's Serie A runner-up Napoli underlined its credentials in the group by winning 2-1 in Kiev in their opener thanks to a brace from Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik. Maurizio Sarri's side are still unbeaten this season but so is Benfica, which tops the Portuguese league after a 2-0 win at Chaves Saturday. Group C At Moenchengladbach, Borussia Moenchengladbach faces Barcelona. Barcelona's trip to Germany will see goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen come up against his hometown team, which he left in 2014 to move to Spain. The Catalans are without the injured Lionel Messi and Gladbach will hope to take advantage of that to keep alive its hopes in the group after going down 4-0 at Manchester City last time out. In Glasgow, Celtic will play Manchester City. The Hoops last beat Premier League opposition a decade ago when Shunsuke Nakamura's superb free-kick saw off Manchester United, but the financial chasm between Scottish football and the Premier League has only widened since then. It is now extremely difficult for Celtic to compete with Europe's giant, as exemplified by its 7-0 loss in Barcelona last time out, its record European defeat. — Agencies
