Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — "It is my belief that the blood of six millions martyred Kashmiris cannot be wasted. No Pakistani government or any political force can remain in Pakistan or even in India who might have to deal with these martyred Kashmiris," said Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, president All Jammu & Kashmir Muslim Conference (AJ&KMC) and ex prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K), while speaking at a press briefing with the members of Pakistan Journalist Forum (PJF) at Mehran restaurant recently. He said "Peace talks between Pakistan and India could not be successful if the true Kashmiri leadership is not associated with the delegation or in the talks." "Kashmir is a political issue. It should be solved politically. A military solution to the issue is dangerous for both countries. It will take the South Asian region to the brink of a nuclear war. The only solution is to resolve the issue with dialogue between Pakistan and India with the association of true Kashmiri leadership. In this regards UN resolutions are the excellent road map to resolve the conflict," he added. He pointed out that India needs to trade with Afghanistan and for all this trade to pass through Pakistani territory, peace is paramount. "Therefore focus on the Kashmir issue and solve it. It must be resolved to make this transit trade possible. He criticized the Nawaz Sharif government policies, stating that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif talked against a sit in and leader of the Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan is insisting on Panama leaks issues, but the Kashmiris have no interest with these issues, except peace in the region. He said recent killings and human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) are a stain on the India's democratic system. The deployment of the Indian army and two months long curfew is enough to judge the situation. He praised the abilities of the newly elected President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan, who hails from the AJK's Rawlakot area and belongs to Sudhozai tribe. Sardar Attique was in Saudi Arabia to perform Haj. He expressed his gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince and Deputy Crown Prince, the government and the people of Saudi Arabia for praiseworthy arrangement of Haj 1437H.
