Spaniard Pol Espargaro was fastest during Friday's opening two practice sessions for this weekend's San Marino MotoGP but Andrea Iannone crashed out to leave the Italian a doubt for the race. Yamaha Tech3 rider Espargaro topped compatriot Dani Pedrosa by 0.065sec with Andrea Dovizioso third fastest at the Misano circuit. However, Iannone, who crashed out of last week's British Grand Prix, again hit the deck during the first practice session with tests revealing a small fracture to his upper back. The Italian, winner of last month's Austrian Grand Prix, was initially ruled out of Sunday's race but his condition is reportedly set to be reviewed Saturday. Defending world champion Jorge Lorenzo was fourth, ahead of overall leader Marc Marquez and Italian legend Valentino Rossi, who trails Marquez by 50 points with six races remaining. Britain's Cal Crutchlow, second at his home race last time out, was seventh fastest while Suzuki's Maverick Vinales came 10th, a week on from his maiden MotoGP victory at Silverstone.
