The General Directorate of Water in Madina is working on implementing a plan, valued at SR690 million to improve water distribution around the region. Director of Water for Madina Nabeel Azmerli said reservoirs will be built in the southern Madina region as part of the plan. Construction of purification stations and digging of wells are in the plan's new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA). With new wells water supply will increase in the Aqoul area. Main pipelines will be laid, new sewage systems will be set up in different areas under the plan. Additionally, a main water-supply station, a hydrology building, and branches of the Directorate across the Madina region will be constructed The new sewage projects, to cost an estimated SR430 million, will cover the northern and southern parts of the city. Another SR97 million has been allocated to improve potable water networks in districts, and complete related projects in Madina. – Okaz __
