Cebu Pacific (CEB) celebrates the birth of a baby girl, born while the aircraft was halfway from Dubai to Manila. This is the first time a baby has been delivered onboard a CEB aircraft. Baby girl ‘Haven' was born approximately four hours after the departure of flight 5J015 from the Dubai International Airport last Sunday (Aug. 14). CEB cabin crew, along with two registered nurses who were also passengers on the flight, assisted with the delivery. The flight diverted to Hyderabad, India, to ensure the mother and baby received medical assistance. Both mother and the baby, who was born premature at 32 weeks, are being assisted by CEB's Customer Care team. "We are happy that both mother and daughter are doing well, and would like to commend our flight and cabin crew for handling the situation with utmost professionalism and efficiency. We also express our sincerest gratitude to the two volunteer nurses who helped ensure the baby's safe delivery," said Lance Gokongwei, CEB President and CEO. "To celebrate this momentous occasion in the life of one of our passengers, CEB awards Baby Haven one million GetGo points, which she can use to fly with us for free," he said. GetGo is CEB's lifestyle rewards program. The baby's points have no expiry, and may be shared with her family.
