RIYADH — Saudi Red Crescent's women's section has trained 931 women in first aid over the past five months. Riyadh Red Crescent spokesman Abdullah Al-Muraibidh said the women's section offered 56 training workshops during the past five months. "The women are trained in first aid, the Heimlich Maneuver, cardiovascular and pulmonary resuscitation and methods of emergency care in drowning, burns, bleeding, poisoning, ulcers and other cases and injuries patients may suffer from," Al-Muraibidh said. The female paramedics will work hand in hand with their male counterparts in treating patients on the spot or transporting them to hospital. "The Red Crescent tended to 204 patients and cases reported to the Red Crescent during various festivals and events. The women department also allows volunteers with health certificates to contribute," he said.
