Published in The Saudi Gazette on 16 - 08 - 2016

JEDDAH — The 8th International Fair for Furniture and Interior Designing DecoFair 2016 will host 75 exhibitors from 12 countries. Organized by Reed Sunaidi Exhibitions, it will be held on Nov. 7-10, 2016, at Jeddah Hilton.
Haya Sunaidi, chairman of organizing committee, said that the seven successful editions of DecoFair contributed to define market requirements to major manufacturers and opened diverse partnerships. It has become the platform to view new products and services of furniture and interior design industry in Saudi market and Gulf region.
She pointed out that DecoFair organizes exhibitors-buyers meetings to learn about products and agree upon future deals, indicating the increased furniture imports up to SR7 billion annually, necessitating the need for expanded partnerships with international companies for localizing the industry in line with "Vision 2030" which aims to minimize import.
Sunaidi also estimated that annual volume growth in the sector by 14% raised purchasing power.
She pointed out that design contest organized by DecoFair highlighted many Saudi talents in the past years, confirming the importance of opening many design and décor institutes and departments since many Saudis proved their great skills, saying that some of the most prominent participating countries are Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Kuwait, Egypt and Emirates.
Rony Al Haddad, exhibition director, noted that DecoFair provides the opportunity for leaders in manufacture, trade of furniture and design sector, international and local companies to meet under one roof as an occasion for cooperation, trade communication and exchange of experiences between companies and visitors, from people working in the sector,
architectures, designers, contractors, investors, specialists and project managers. He pointed out that the last edition of DecoFair recorded growth in visitors from the business sector by 23%. Al Haddad said DecoFair creates a creative work environment for new designs and inventions.
DecoFair receives more than 7,000 visitors and gives the opportunity to experience new designs, latest products and attend seminars and educational workshops.
