Economic forums open give participants an opportunity to discuss issues and exchange ideas on how to improve the economy of a country or performance of economic sectors and establishments. This gives importance to the 6th Global Competitiveness Forum 2012, which is being held in Riyadh from Saturday up to Tuesday, as it comes at a time when the world economy is undergoing difficulties. The forum, held under the patronage of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is attended by a hundred of experts on business, politics and economics. At the forum, experts exchange ideas in the fields of finance and investments and offer initiatives seeking to bolster competitiveness of the business sector. They offer economic visions on how to enhance the Kingdom's competitiveness in the world market and move the country to the forefront of the global economy, using international economic reports. The forum discusses unemployment, job opportunities, developing the Saudi human resources, increasing the efficiency of government agencies, the e-gate project to merge updated information and data with the view to finding a unified system. It also focuses on improving infrastructure and setting up an infrastructure fund. The forum comes at a critical time and exceptional circumstances when many countries are going through financial and economic crises. We hope that the results of this forum could be carried out concretely in the Kingdom, especially in the fields of administration, finance and investment. The forum should not remain at the level of discussions and exchanges of ideas. The ideas learned form the forum should be translated into action that could boost the Kingdom's economy and the performance of the government and business sectors. __
