JEDDAH – The Saudi Arabian beauty market, the largest in the Middle East, showed an increase of nearly SR50 billion in annual volume of expenditure on health and beauty sector. According to the organizer Reed Sunaidi Exhibitions, this year ‘Health and Beauty' Expo' to be held on Nov. 27-29 in Hilton Jeddah will host 120 exhibitors representing 20 countries. The diverse consumer segment - a young population, significant expatriate population plus tourists - offers tremendous opportunity. Haya Sunaidi, chairman of Sunaidi Expo, said "the exhibition has become a platform in Saudi Arabia and Gulf states for all personnel interested in the field that involves improving the quality of life for individuals and is consistent with the state's new direction of vision 2030." Sunaidi also noted that the awareness in health and food would save around SR20 billion spent on treatment of obesity, high pressure, heart diseases and various complications. Forecasting increased visitors by at least 15% than last year, key retailers, owners of salons, hair stylists and fitness corporate are invited to attend the show to see the latest products in the field. Sunaidi said exhibitors from more than 20 countries and more than 150 global brands will be showcased. She also estimated the annual size of health and beauty market at more than $17 billion, noting that the market recorded annual growth up to 15%. On counterfeit products flooding market, she said people relied on the role of exhibitions, through discussion and seminars, to raise awareness on the importance of focusing on high-quality products, as a result, exhibitors' satisfaction ratio over the past years increased by more than 80%.
